The basement is solid wood (just like the floor slabs); the walls were delivered with windows and doors cut in but not yet removed. The wood will then be used for the staircase construction.
For the wooden stud walls (on the ground floor and upper floor), the windows are already installed as planned.
Basement in solid wood: I think it's simply for the structural engineering. The earth mass is pressing from the outside and the house is pressing from above. But I didn't explicitly question it.
It must be because of the structural engineering. Solid wood is more stable than wooden studs. Our basement has solid wood on three sides. With wooden studs, the basement would have had to be built with masonry or we would have had to move one meter away from the retaining wall.
For us, all walls and the intermediate ceiling are made of solid wood.
Miele is out even for my parents and parents-in-law. The appliances don’t last forever anymore and for less than 10 years they are too expensive.
My Neff oven heats up quickly and evenly. No need to rotate cakes and pizzas.
The Slide & Hide door was the reason for buying it and it’s really great. I also find the operation good.
In my opinion, brands within the same price range don’t differ much. I think the function has to suit the person. Slide & Hide only makes sense with elevated ovens. Others cannot do convection at 170 degrees for 40 minutes, you first have to set it Meat, Pork, 1.2 Kg
