Thank you very much, blending into the natural surroundings was one of our goals. When it has turned gray, it will fit even better. The house produces more electricity than it needs via photovoltaics and is heated with wood from the forest. More grows there than the house requires.

Floor is a special milestone! Beautiful view. Will it remain unobstructed?

... should one not lay the joints of the floors with the direction of the light? Or is that also more a "matter of taste"?

"One should probably do it that way - in the living room we laid the seams with the light, the same parquet in another room in the other direction (you cannot create a visual connection from either room - never visible). The parquet looks completely different due to the laying direction - the one in the living room is smoother, the brushed texture comes out much more strongly in the other room (and I actually like it better). So: from my point of view, also a matter of taste. But usually you do it according to the light incidence."

Well, that seems to be an elongated, narrow room. If laid at about a 90° angle, it would appear even longer and narrower.
I also have two rooms and a hallway (all connected) that are rather narrow and long, and I deliberately chose the laying direction as shown in the picture above. It looks good.
