I am also happy about the [Raffstores], only that they go up during storms was quite annoying in the autumn...

We rely on natural cooling and a sensible roof overhang. Closing the windows in summer wouldn't even occur to me. On the contrary: thanks to glass folding walls, we can open almost the entire width of the living space. Finally, we were able to save and gave up: no [Raffstores], no [Rollläden].

We will have partially transparent screens.
Additionally, active and passive cooling is possible.
Of course, also large window openings (10 meters) in one piece.

You can also look out of prison, through bars . So yes after all...

The best is like in Hampshire, you save money and don't need those ugly things that always remind of offices or industrial buildings.

But those things are just symptom treatment, the cause is rather the often unnecessarily large window fronts. Without a view or with a view of a main street or neighbors, in my opinion, pure trend and nonsense. Like bell-bottoms, yuck

The best thing is experience. If I remember correctly, Hampshire is currently building. Let's talk again in 1.5 years, after the first summer in the new house.
