Wow, what a proud hut. Kit or self-designed and cut or had cut? I’d also be interested in the budget ;-)?

It is a kit from GSP Blockhaus. Our development plan stipulates that we are supposed to cover or green garages/carports and ancillary facilities such as the residential house (I should have taken the tip to just use a metal roof...) and I searched quite a long time until I found something that can actually support a tiled roof. Conveniently, the company also has a small model house estate near Pforzheim, where I went last winter. They are also quite nice people; when you call, someone always answers the phone and emails get a quick response. Only the calculation of the roof design went wrong (or rather the problem is that it was calculated too late and the roof is a bit larger than the actual roof overhangs, but there will be a thread about that). The kit also seems quite valuable. A few beams and boards could be a bit straighter, but with wood, that's always a thing, especially when the package stood outside under the tarp from the end of May until the beginning of September...

The cost for the kit (45mm log wall including substructure, 2nd window, door, floor, roof sheathing, eave and gable boards, as well as all necessary screws and matching Torx bits) is about €6300 including delivery. In addition, there is material for the foundation, roof battens and tiles, various roof accessories (underlay membrane, ridge roll, ...), gutter, paint which I procured myself. The total budget should then be around €9000. It’s not quite cheap for a garden house, but in between I already feared that I would only get something like this from a carpenter. Let's see how many will actually adhere to the development plan...

That is in Rhineland-Palatinate ;) Our first house was in Lower Saxony, hence the comparison.

okay, that is quite a proud price but a great result.

Here is my "savings project Bikeport": 3m wide, 2m deep + 40cm roof overhang, 210-230 high.

Spent so far (screws, brackets, underlayment) approx. €270
Wood so far all leftover wood from the house, but now I have to buy roof battens for about €100 ;)
Hope to still use my nice HPL panels for the wall cladding (cost about €200 + €60 screws)
Roofing just under 8m² Erlus tiles (leftovers from the house).
Inside will probably be completely tongue and groove (22m² for about €350)
Additional beams for reinforcing the roof structure (due to the weight of the tiles) about €80
Lighting, sockets, etc. (actually still have everything (leftovers from house construction ;-) but realistically cost about €100)
Shelf made of screen printing plywood for beverage crates and leftover wood about €100
Total budget then probably around €1250 (buffer would still be a bit available :D)

As you can see, quite a bit is still missing! But on Saturday it will go a bit further again. The job is leaving me little free time right now

However, one must also say that the 500€ garden houses from the hardware store are significantly smaller (I am really pushing the 40cbm limit) and also have much thinner material. A 19mm wall does not even consume half the wood. The roof tiles are especially expensive, mainly the shaped tiles. In terms of price, a row of tiles this size is roughly divided equally between the right verge tile, field tiles, and left verge tile. Hopefully, I’ll get away somewhat cheaper with the carport ;)

Us again. In the last two weeks, we finished the last front wall. Tomorrow the tiler is coming to waterproof the upstairs bathroom, Thursday the tub will be installed, and Friday will be tiled! Very exciting.

Here is now the front wall for the tub, with shelves at the front, back, and side. Everything has to fit exactly. Our heating/plumber encouraged us and said "good luck, it will never fit anyway." Challenge accepted, I’ll tell you Thursday whether we won or lost :D

First, meditate

Build the scaffold out of wood

Then panel it

and do a bit more filling

Et voila

The tiler can come!

By the way, in between, I lost my will to live and my hair ;)
