Our terrace is taking shape. Tomorrow it will already be paved. This way, our junior’s party can take place outside over the weekend.

I don’t want to withhold my current DIY project from you!

I am currently building a pergola for the west terrace on my own, 130x130 larch glulam beams, outer dimensions are 4m wide, 3.50m deep and 2.80m high. In between, I have slotted larch planks as blinds.

Yesterday, after 4 weeks of preparation, we finally erected the monster..... now the supports just have to go and then the wisteria can come and start its greening work

Very nice that a lot is being done by yourself here again.

The feeling of having done some things yourself is priceless

In our new housing developments, it is common practice to borrow 100k more and have everything done directly - interest rates are low ...

Well, those who can do it - and by that I don't just mean having the craft skills.

My husband and I leave the house before 6 in the morning and come home after 6 in the evening - there isn't as much time as one would like. Often it's not because you don't want to, but because it just doesn't work out...

Of course, that always has to be possible. I'm not particularly skilled at crafts either and am often on the road for work during the week - so some projects just have to wait a bit and take a little longer.

Being able to do it is one thing - wanting to do it is another - some people, in my opinion, make it a bit too easy on themselves because everything is supposed to be perfect right away, but fortunately, everyone decides that for themselves.

I think it's nice to see the overall project grow and am willing to spend part of the little free time I have on it and have the patience that not everything is finished immediately. That's why I also like the pictures here where paving or building is done by oneself.
