Metallwerner, I’m getting teary-eyed. Beautiful house, I really like it! I would love to have one too, but setback areas and the requirement to fit in gave me a gable roof *sigh* ...and unfortunately my wallet can’t afford many extras either... But really great house!

I don't even know a professional footballer, neither active nor inactive. So...

Thank you very much! We also had to justify our flat roof well so that we got it approved. We have the only one in the entire village – but the architect has experience with the officials in the city. We got approval by going the ecological route (green roof). Setback areas weren’t really the problem, my sister owns the adjacent field and the house behind the garage belongs to me, thank God. Wallet... yes, I know, others go on vacation three times a year for that, my boyfriend and I both work hard and long hours, and when we come home, that should be the "vacation" for both of us. I'm a bit extra about that, my parents both died very early from cancer, always just working. You can’t take money with you to the grave. So I promised myself I'll make it as nice as possible as long as I’m still healthy...

I think we all want to build a nice house here where you feel comfortable. But I have to say, I don't put everything into the house. It's not my life's purpose, I'd actually rather go on vacation and see the world and invest it in my child. But to each their own and that's a good thing too. Sorry about your parents!

How big is the pool?

It's a difference whether a couple without children is building or a family is building. Different priorities are set.
That's also the nice thing here in the thread. So many different houses, all beautiful in their own way, even if you wouldn't build like that yourself.

That also looks much better than light clinker with high-contrast joints.

: what kind of cladding is that, which looks different on the outside but does not appear to have a different overall wall thickness in the floor plan compared to the other exterior walls? - respectively: what kind of substructure does it have?
