The house is built in the village. My dream was actually that it would be surrounded by a flower meadow. However, that didn’t work out in front of the veranda (there was something wrong with the soil cultivation) and that’s why I overseeded with lawn to prevent a weed desert. Everything was actually supposed to look like this in the beginning.

However, I don’t like embankments and that’s why this will still have to give way to a dry stone wall in front of the house. These stones will come from the demolition of the old parental farmhouse (field stones, granite, and whatever else can be found there).

My dream for the garden: a flower meadow with a separated cottage garden. Enclosed with a picket fence. But most likely, rose hips will have to be used because deer and wild boars love to graze and root around here. Lately, I’ve driven through many new housing areas and I believe the trend is moving towards the "garden of horror" for insects. And that would simply not happen here and I wouldn’t like that either. At the moment, I really enjoy and am delighted by the view from the kitchen window with the unbelievably many! butterflies and bees in the flower meadow. And it’s low-maintenance too.
