Crazy sh..., good thing we’re building in flat countryside and I only have a slope of 40cm over 20m.

I’m not quite that tech-savvy after all.

Slope is both a curse and a blessing. I am glad about the property. But slope is rather not suitable for simple and/or inexpensive construction. I'm just glad that it's finally starting. We had enough delays and problems...

I am now annoyed by every kind of technology, have reduced it to a minimum and what can I say it is much better. You live more carefree and happier. However, we also have a total of 7 Lan sockets in the house. Most of them are not in use.

We don’t even have a single LAN socket. The router is located in the middle of the house and delivers 400 MBit down and 40 MBit up...

Once set up, the technology should run in the background and take work off your hands, not create it. With [Spielkindern], it is of course worked on/changed more often. 7 sockets are sufficient for a normal house. The main thing is that access points are wired via LAN and not via Mesh or Powerline... But it is also a generational issue. With home office, you also need several sockets, etc. Wired is simply more stable and faster.

Please do not spread such half-truths regarding Wi-Fi, network speeds, and internet speed.
According to your provider (presumably cable), your internet has 400mbit download and 40mbit upload. Try going to the basement or behind a wall. Then you no longer have a 5ghz network but only 2.4ghz. You won't get 400mbit through that. If there are multiple devices on the network, the bandwidth is divided (also within your own network, not just the internet connection).
Do a speed test there and post the screenshot. Also, your cable never delivers exactly those speeds. It can be more or less.
The (presumably) FritzBox is great for users like you because it can do a lot but little correctly.
Your Wi-Fi itself, depending on the FritzBox, has up to 1733mbit (total). That is still significantly slower than full duplex gigabit or even 10Gbit. With a wired network, you have this extra performance on every line and do not share it with other devices.
Both variants have their justification depending on the requirements. But one should use the terminology correctly or make accurate statements.
