I would have expected a different kind of door there (and, yes, it looks like plastic). More like something along these lines:
(of course not in blue)

We are diligently continuing to backfill. Additionally, on Friday our rainwater cistern was buried:

(the dome extension still needs to be delivered).

Now it's raining. Let's see if they can continue backfilling today (the soil is very clayey and when it gets wet, it is good for compaction, once it is already where it is, but it is bad if you first have to bring it there).

Why are you backfilling with clay soil? Here, [kft] and drainage would have helped more to keep water away from the wooden basement.

In any case, rather let everything settle twice over the winter, otherwise you risk that everything will settle.

Of course, we'll let that settle over the winter.

We are quite glad that the excavation material is being reused; apparently, some substance was detected (Z1), which makes disposal expensive. Everything we use here does not have to be taken to the landfill. By the way, it is not pure clay soil, but mixed with quite a lot of gravel. We are sitting on a terminal moraine, hence a lot of clay gravel in the soil. (the old field names "Steinacker" and "Khaganger" also point to this)

Thank you very much for your comments.

Unfortunately, the side panel did not come with a leaded glass insert, but it has the same "frosted glass" as next to the insert in the main door. Maybe that's the common last name...

The windows are made of white plastic, and we live in a bad weather area. We liked plastic to match the windows and found it easier to maintain. We both work full-time, so I can't take care of more than what I already have (like the wonderful kitchen )... and wood MUST be maintained, I see that at my grandparents'...

The staircase was planned 100% with the carpenter, we didn't like the round post he initially designed at all, and now we are completely satisfied...

Simply place a ball on the post and it is already round
