Can you please mark exactly what you mean with an arrow? Unfortunately, I can’t follow you right now.
Thank you!
Hello, it’s about the overhang here:
In the drawing we got from the stair builder, the beam was drawn flush with the parapet, not shifted sideways by 1 cm.
But I don’t know if this is something to complain about, or if it's just a minor flaw.
They also delivered the wrong post caps; actually, they were supposed to be rounded, not so angular.
I thought the forum and you had agreed that you both are quite big nerds. So it surprises me that you will operate the roller shutters manually and not solve that smartly?
I’m just not a fan of these electric things. In hindsight, I’m not so sure how good the decision was. We tried them at friends’ places and somehow they were too slow for me. Also, it was too expensive for us. At the time of selecting materials, we didn’t yet know for sure whether our planned additional costs for the foundation would be sufficient, or if we might need pile foundations and then miss 10,000 euros somewhere else in the end. Therefore, electric window openers were left out for priority reasons.
Edit: I just realized you probably meant proper smart home with app control and so on. Actually, despite being nerds, we did almost nothing smart in the house. We distribute network throughout the house and that’s it. For me, smart home means "all or nothing." And for "all," we definitely lacked the money. And the expertise. None of us has any passion for it, so we are not extensively informed about all the cool things you can do. And since I’m no longer in my early 30s, we structured the loan so that we can still manage it during our working life, so there simply was no money left for such gadgets that are not so important to us.
