Thank you for your positive feedback :) The doors throughout the house are 2.50 meters. While we have a ceiling height of 2.75 meters downstairs, upstairs we were only able to realize 2.65 meters due to the limited ridge height. Baseboards would not have looked good with the flush-mounted doors. A shadow gap was considered, but it would have created an unimaginable effort. Therefore, the floor layers and plasterers had to work joint to joint so that there is a clean transition from the wall to the floor without baseboards. This did not cause any enthusiasm among the two trades, but it works. The floor is linoleum (Wikipedia: "The main advantage of linoleum is its resistance to mechanical and chemical stresses. ... Linoleum is antistatic, mildly fungicidal and bacteriostatic (thus inhibiting bacterial growth)."). We installed it hoping it could resist our children for at least some time..., as it has proven itself in public areas.
