Exactly right. To the south side is the living room with a small covered terrace, behind it in the southwest the dining area and then with a large window to the west and two windows to the north the kitchen.
Above the living room and the extension of the dining room is the roof terrace.

At the moment, we are leaning strongly towards the umbrella option. The area is simply too large for an awning, and a sun sail would certainly not do the house's appearance any good.

Then you have the issue that you have to weigh down this base cross with plates. Fixed anchoring will no longer be possible due to the possibly already completed sealing, unless you could have it integrated into the sealing. That means having a height extension turned by a locksmith or someone you know with a lathe, and the actual holder of the parasol is screwed onto that.
The holder is usually the same for 360-degree rotatable parasols...
The height extension itself could be fixedly anchored and integrated into the sealing.
If the parasol ever breaks, you just buy a new one....

I can recommend, for example, the large parasol
Paramondo parapenda in 3*4 meters or the round 3.5 m version.
Price/performance is great, also regarding wind stability.
