If the site doesn't cause any problems, it goes quickly. We needed 11 months:
5 months net until the top edge of the base slab
2 months weather-related break in winter
4 months until moving in.

... but I think the pros and cons of carport vs. garage are self-explanatory and known to all prospective builders.

I would say there are two types of burglars: Type 1 = this one falls under acquisition crime, he doesn't care whether a vehicle is there or not Type 2 = the professional = he waits for the right moment Type 2 would be preferable to me.
