That is exactly the right explanation. The years stated strongly depend on the manufacturers. A very good plastic window can also last 40 years. Nevertheless, aluminum lasts at least one third longer. And for us, the price difference was not 70%..

We have had no problems so far with very large anthracite windows. However, they are also very thick and have a carbon frame.
Surcharge 70% from the highest quality plastic to the highest quality aluminum wood.
Cheap aluminum wood would have been available for 25% more.

We also have large plastic windows in anthracite gray (RAL7016). So far, we have had zero problems and last summer really had a few very hot and sunny days.

There is no cracking, no noticeable deformation, and the windows open and close no differently under the strongest sunlight than in winter.

Imagine plastic garden furniture, the best you can buy. At the same time, aluminum garden furniture. I am sure that after a few years of all the weathering, the plastic garden furniture will start to discolor, and if you wait even longer, the plastic will break. The aluminum garden furniture will definitely endure this without damage.

Some profile manufacturers have apparently learned from high complaint rates and have built in more steel + better stiffness due to the now common 3-4 layer windows...

We have double glazing, our acquaintances chose the same profile with triple glazing a year later.
Our window profile can no longer be found under that designation. Our parents chose the same profile with double glazing for renovation (2010) in white and have had no problems with bulging/warping...

The problems only relate to the south/southwest side.

Well. It is more like imagining steel garden furniture with a plastic coating.
