Our tiler started working last Wednesday, upstairs in the main bathroom. He first waterproofed, then our tub was installed into the beautiful prefabricated wall (of course it didn’t fit perfectly ;)). But everything could be fixed.
On Friday and Tuesday he put up the large wall tiles, unfortunately we miscalculated the cutting waste and he had to wait for three last tiles, which he then installed on Wednesday.

Wednesday was shower day, my absolute highlight. Our tiler would certainly not call it that, because at first he understood herringbone, poor guy. But as you can see, it’s fish scales. It was his first time with these tiles, but a real pro can do it. He quietly swore a lot, but it looks fantastic! The tiles vary not only in color, but apparently also in size and thickness… ahem…. But don’t worry, he charged the shower by the hour (agreed beforehand), so he won’t miss out on any profit here. He actually took longer than he had planned (with herringbone).
Then the floor tiles were installed. I’m so happy with the bathroom.
On Monday we’re having the toilet installed, then the porta-potty can go. The tub faucet, then we can wash our hands there and even take a shower sometimes. Next Friday we’re getting internet and on 11/01 the kitchen. Things are progressing.
For the toilet we’re building a frame out of wood that we’ll place over it when we finish the ceiling and walls so we don’t smash it :D. Living on the edge! Where there is still drywall now, there will also be wood paneling.
We actually wanted to tile the prefabricated wall in the guest bathroom ourselves, but then decided to let him do it as well. Cutting out the stuff for the toilet etc. would take us forever, but he can do it better and faster. And his hourly rate is absolutely fair...
The bathroom downstairs will be extraordinary too. And we’re having glitter put into the grout. His face was priceless… "I’ve never done this before." Just like the scales :D.
I’m curious how it will look when we’re back tomorrow evening.
