It's okay that you have so many sockets. This is also understandable for a different usage. Our garage is more than twice as big and we have maybe 10 sockets + 2x heavy current (32 amperes). But a server cabinet in the garage? Is that within the thermal envelope? How about moisture, etc.? How many LAN sockets do you have then?

The server cabinet that I put in the garage is my second one; my father still had it. The main cabinet basically goes in the utility room. Currently, we have 20 LAN sockets in the house. There is at least one double LAN socket in every room.

This one goes into the house.

Yes, I know it is completely over the top, but it was free.

Another one of these goes into the garage.

You have 20 LAN sockets and 2 48U server racks???
Are you planning to start a server farm? A 48-port switch is enough for that. On top of that, you can have a router and modem separately as well as a small NAS. You will never need more than 10 rack units.
We have over 110 LAN sockets and less (including 10Gbit LAN...) than your two racks suffices for us.
As far as I can see from here, the rack is not suitable for use in damp rooms.
Better seal it for the garage and line it with wood. Then you’ll have a humidor for cigars. That would fit well into the men’s retreat.

As I said, if I hadn’t received it as a gift, I wouldn’t get such a case myself.
The one for the garage will most certainly be used for a different purpose.
But cigars will not go in there. I will come up with something to put in there.

Sorry but what on earth are you supposed to do with 110 LAN sockets?

Our building is somewhat larger. Just because of that, there are already more outlets. If you scale it up from your size, you would already be at over 80 outlets.
Almost all of them are occupied or planned. Just for the technology and infrastructure, we need many.
House control, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, pool, access points, cameras, charging stations, access controls, doorbell systems, plus sports equipment, TV, game console, computer, printer, scanner, phone (ip)...
Additionally, for example, outlets in the floor under the sofa and dining table when more speed is needed.
Also extra ports in the guest room. Plus a few as reserves.
These are several separate networks (Vlans) for different functions or security levels.
So everything is rather on the tech-savvy or nerd level.

Today the measurements were finally taken. Unfortunately, it turned out that we cannot keep the one old hedge after all.
Because of the excavation pit and the slope, it would fall over. Additionally, we can still erect almost 50 meters of extra retaining wall (about 3 meters high). This really takes the fun out of it...
