I also prefer it rather restrained and subtle; accents are better with accessories and decor. That is more flexible and timeless. That’s why our walls are very white, combined with wood and natural tones.
Color through blankets, cushions, flowers, pictures, etc.
For us, things will finally continue from April 1st!
In the meantime, I had surgery (nasal polyp operation) and we painted the wooden ceiling:

A lighter shade of white (yes, white here too!) and UV protection.
Here you can still see the difference compared to the beam that is not yet painted white:

The white effect depends a lot on the light incidence: the more light (sun), the whiter it looks.
It was a crappy job – I hate painting overhead!
That’s why the next batch of work is now waiting for us here: the panels for the upper floor – we can still comfortably paint them on the trestle and only then will they be installed. Thank God! I would not have felt like painting standing on a scaffold up to the ridge beam in the dormer!
