Nowadays, apparently everything has to be anthracite. It's a pity, especially wood could have broken this gloominess in today's new housing developments.

That's true. We also have anthracite. It definitely looks stylish, but unfortunately every new house looks like this - it's also not unrealistic that in 20 years people will think "what were they thinking back then". A dark green, light gray, red, or wood look (since I wouldn't choose pure wooden windows) would have been nice as well.

We have also painted the garden shed anthracite. The window frames, respectively the entrance door and the roof, then in white, creating a nice contrast.
