I just made myself a pretty nice bench vise out of a large slab.

Beech, a beautiful wood. Calm, solid, but still with textures. I love it.

We also liked beech better than oak during the sampling. Oak is simply too dark for me. I'm actually more of a maple guy.

The electrician was already here too and worked on something all day at our place. In the morning, we marked the sockets and switches together.

Yep, otherwise we have tiles and click vinyl in larch look, so beech actually doesn't fit that well... Oak would have been more appropriate, I think, but the budget was eventually used up.
