No, that is not the topic. The large gate has the spring (torsion spring) that balances the weight ABOVE the gate. But that also means that the rails have to be positioned higher to accommodate the spring somewhere underneath. With the small gate, this is not necessary; the drive can manage that without any help.

Honestly, I don't understand why one doesn't see this when standing in the garage and looking at the two constructions. It practically jumps right into your face....

At first, I only noticed that the two rail systems and gates are at different heights and didn't understand why that was the case when the planning specifies two identical measurements and there is nothing about different gate heights, etc. in the construction contract.

I wouldn't mind either if you didn't feel so cramped walking under the left rail. Instead, one could have simply suggested making the garage roof 10 cm higher.

From us, another progress report. The exterior plaster is now on, the tiler has finished the guest bathroom and the children's bathroom, only the grouting is missing. Sanitary objects are coming next week, as well as the daylight spotlights.
The parents' bathroom is still waiting for the bathtub. In 2 weeks we have the house handover. Then only the tiler has to finish the remaining floors and the painter the walls. The kitchen will be installed on 15.10. and then we move in.

Yes, if the handover takes place in 2 weeks, we had a construction time of 5.5 months for nearly 200 sqm of solid construction. Our site manager then undershot the construction time guarantee by 2 months, which she is already proud of.

Fortunately, we regularly have the DEKRA construction supervisor, otherwise one could actually be afraid of botched work.
