It was especially cozy behind the privacy screen ... :) A bathtub in the bathroom can also radiate coziness ... There are situations where, unfortunately, coziness has to give way to practicality. However, our living room still lacks the final touch of coziness with wall decorations, etc. With the previous owners, everything was (color)ful and in the most diverse colors. A green sofa, another purple ... decorations everywhere on the walls and in the windows. Chairs of different colors in the dining area. Almost like in an issue of "Schöner Wohnen." The brown wooden windows with muntins also contributed to the cozy appearance. But it was not our taste, so we had white (plastic) windows in a wood look without muntins installed to remain overall color-neutral as well. We, on the other hand, are (still) relatively simple and colorless furnished. We’re probably not that brave :). The concrete-look tiles don’t exactly stand for coziness in the strict sense either. That’s why we left the light wooden ceiling in the living room to have a "warm" contrast to the simple concrete look. We also kept the fireplace in reddish bricks to have a certain "eyecatcher" :) In our kitchen, in contrast — compared to the bathrooms, for example — it is, in my opinion, cozier because it is not a sterile kitchen where nothing is allowed to stand on the work surface.

The tiles are called "Feinsteinzeug Dublin grey" in 120 cm x 120 cm. As already reported, we also had them installed in the living/dining area and in the kitchen. The previous tiles were terribly difficult to remove (DIY). When laying them, the previous owners also made mistakes, so they were cracked in many places. Partly almost across the entire living room.

Living room before (also still with the old windows):

Yay ... no more holes in the floor ... !

(Almost) a work of art, as we think ... :)

The transition from the living/dining area to the kitchen. Six tiles meet here.

Finished (the wooden shelf at the transition to the kitchen left of the fireplace is now matte white, and the tilers also used the tiles for the window sills in the kitchen and living room. Fits perfectly!):

We kept the kitchen because it was almost like new. However, we chose a new countertop and a new sink. The guys from the carpenter did a good job there. At first, a granite countertop was under discussion. But since we will definitely get another kitchen at some point, we refrained from it for now.

A piece of countertop is still missing under the window.

That was almost a year ago now.
