Since demanded photos of our construction site again

I always think from the outside it already looks weird with such windows that are only at the very top. But from the inside I think it looks really stupid. Does it get better when there is furniture there? I don't think I could get used to it. What was the reason for you? More space for furniture or that no one can look in? Or are there other reasons?

I think it was because of the height difference to the neighbor?

The difference in height wouldn't be the problem, we initially planned regular windows as well. It was mainly because of privacy since my parents and grandma have their houses directly behind us. Besides, we quite like these long narrow windows. We also have one in the kitchen (see [Küchenbildertread]). And, by the way, it's also more practical for the furniture in the living room.

Ah ok, true, something like that still exists. As a flatlander, I hadn’t thought of that at all.
