So the living room is really amazing and the kitchen is the best place in the house but the rest of the ground floor is so tiny.

Some rooms are a bit tight, ok. I would have combined the shower and storage on the ground floor. But you do have a basement. There is still plenty of space there. It always seems misleading at first. What do you find too small? You can still tear down the walls.

Well, maybe it’s really just an illusion
You can recognize where the interior walls are placed by the metal straps. That already scared me. Especially the hallway, I imagined it a bit bigger in my mind’s eye.

Only the marked walls and no ceiling over your head... I also thought we had built for dolls, but then I consciously realized (the logic, you know) that our basement is larger in qm than our current apartment, so not too small!
And that was the case. Wait until the ceiling is on, that will put the impression back into perspective. When only the interior walls stand and it is still open at the top, it always seems too small. The ceiling puts the proportions back into the right light.
