The shower toilets somehow didn't quite convince me, apart from the fact that I also don't find them that great visually. I somehow want to be "above" the water jet with which I wash myself.

Originally wanted to install these hygiene showers as well, but then ran into the same problem as – mostly you only get rubbish around here. The plumber saw it the same way and recommended the above "shower toilet" to us.
We initially planned it only for the main bathroom, but liked it so much that we ordered another one for the guest bathroom!

Thanks, but does the toilet really stay clean, nothing gets into the grooves or anything?

I will ask the stair builder about that because it looks anything but nice.

As for controlling the spray: You can adjust intensity and temperature steplessly, but positioning has to be done by the user (wiggle your butt). However, it probably isn’t any different with the bidet shower; somehow you have to get it positioned correctly underneath you.

could it be that you have the wrong thermostat in your shower bathroom?
I have the same shower (Hansgrohe). As far as I can see, you now have to press two buttons if you want water from above.

Regarding your glass: Definitely replace it. In our case, the safety glass on the parapet, railing, etc. does not look like that anywhere.
