Well, I wouldn't switch back to Ceran after having induction. It's much more direct and faster. Even better than gas, only that it's much easier to clean than a gas-Ceran cooktop (that's a hassle - my brother has one). The noises are there, no doubt, but when I'm done cooking, they're gone too and while cooking they don't bother me. It would be annoying if you were keeping something warm and sitting at the table, you might hear it then. But that doesn't happen with us.

Because I want to. Personally (!), I would feel uneasy standing close to an induction hob while cooking day after day, year after year. I am by no means a conspiracy theorist, but I don’t want to conduct long-term tests on myself. I don’t perceive the difference between ceramic and induction as that big with my cooking style, I just don’t need it.

That’s okay, it was just a question. Nothing came to mind immediately as an advantage for me.

I hardly believe people buy it because neighbor Meier and Müller have it as well, but because it simply has completely different advantages regarding speed and the temperature “after” cooking. (in a household with children)

My wife has always been against induction as well, and there are understandable reasons for that. But the advantages outweigh those of ceramic glass. I do not consider the health risk to be higher than what one otherwise exposes oneself to in everyday life. And compared to that, you spend very, very little time cooking.
