So here in a pumice area (Koblenz / Westerwald) it is common to plaster houses made of pumice (nowadays often Bisotherm and KLB) only in the year after moving in. Barns here often remain unplastered forever without anything rotting inside. Gas concrete is plastered quickly here, but mostly only developers and newcomers build with it.

All good.

... if you don't have any emotional investment in brick cladding, then leave it at plaster, that fits best in the Eifel – even for a house inspired by another region.

It is primarily a price issue and we do not at all grieve over the upcoming plaster facade.

Exactly. Thank you very much for the explanations, I probably could not have explained it as well. It is completely "normal" here to build that way, we are not "standing out" with it.

Maybe we will indeed leave it like that. It would be an interesting "style mix" and apparently already is.

The house has been very positively received in the village; everyone is amazed but enthusiastic. We like it.

Thank you for your interest.

Already checked and approved during the construction planning. Therefore, we are also completely satisfied with the "temporary plaster variant".

I have already canceled the appointment and rescheduled it for Friday. I’m no longer surprised by anything. When there are multiple trades, appointments are postponed more often than kept. Strangely, I don’t have this with my own trades.

But whatever. That’s just how it is now. I hope that the screed will actually be done on Monday. At first, they said the workers all celebrated Eid (first postponement) and then suddenly everyone was sick. Apparently, they all ate from the same Eid plate. Whoever believes that.....

I was at the house again today with the interior designer. He asked me where the power connection for the dishwasher is!!

The electrician says it was there and the insulation was simply laid over it. He wants to provide me with photos of it tomorrow. I don’t see any power connection here. I also don’t know if it can still be saved once the screed is on it. Even now, it’s extremely unpleasant to dig it out from below!
