Our outdoor facilities seem to take care of themselves... View from the terrace

I see you also have such a large earth mound. What are you doing with it? It still worries me a bit, although my husband thinks the soil could be used to level the property and replace the compaction material in front of and around the house.

But that’s exactly such a point. Why must you always edge at the boundary instead of somewhere in between, and why necessarily L-steine? Because only the neighbor sees the ugly concrete?
We also want to enter the house at ground level, for that I have to create a slope in front of the house. Then there will be a low wall about knee-high to create the necessary depth. That is then 2-3 rows of the 40x20x20 stones, all easily doable yourself. We don’t need to hijack the thread here, I’m sure I will post more when the garden is underway. But I make sure in the planning to design everything as suitable as possible for DIY work instead of just stacking 500-kilogram L-steine.

Did you sow anything there?

If your soil is properly compactable, no problem. And if you have to fill in somewhere where settlement is unproblematic, also no problem.

Our topsoil is not suitable for compaction. But since we will not compact everything, it will be distributed at some point.

Clean. My pile of earth looks similar, but I also threw a cover crop mixture on it. At first, I thought it had just become bird feed, but then something actually sprouted :)
