I wonder who even allows such nonsense, plastering is being done even though the roof is not properly finished yet, that can only cause trouble! I really feel sorry for you, but the site manager seems to be a real light bulb! And why doesn’t he give you any information? I mean, if he discusses with the roofer what is supposed to be done tomorrow, why doesn’t he tell you? Personally, in such a case I would pester the site manager until he spills the beans and tells me what’s going on, how and when it will be fixed. If I don’t like his answer, alternatives have to be found!

Example: Our site manager has now scheduled painting the walls and sanding the screed in the same week. When I asked how that’s supposed to work regarding dust formation and painting (not to mention that they’ll just be getting in each other’s way), he said the screed sanders have a good suction system. I said there is probably no suction system good enough to allow painting at the same time. He saw that and scheduled the painters only after the sanding.

Then I wonder why the roofing work etc. isn’t completed first before plastering. How are they supposed to fix that?

You clearly know a lot more about the processes on a construction site than I do. I wouldn’t notice such things.

At the moment, there is a substitute site manager here because our site manager is on vacation. However, he doesn’t make a bad impression. From my point of view, he has rather inherited the problems and now has to make the best of this project, which he doesn’t know in detail. He’s like a firefighter, and I believe that if this were his project, he would have noticed shortcomings in the schedule earlier. This site manager was also recommended by other builders we spoke with before signing the contract. But a firm agreement for a specific site manager wasn’t possible there.

...and after the weekend I thought: nice, 10 pages of new house pictures. And instead I see the continuation of the well-known floor plan thread...

I have never heard of roofs that work without drainage and sealing. No matter what shape they have.
