Yes, the forest borders the north side of the house, harmless small birches that could fall start less than 10m further on, then mainly beeches come and the slope goes up.. On the north side, windows and doors are open and a gentle coolness flows through the room towards the south down the slope - we have already been able to try it. Surely it can also get very hot sometimes - then hillside tents go into the forest and you sleep there 10-15 degrees cooler. you may be right, I think it will also work in heat like last year and the year before, we'll see. By the way, I have already lived in much hotter areas and loved it. In this photo from April you can see the position of the cooling system.

The groundbreaking took place 4 weeks earlier than expected.... On Tuesday, filling with recycling will already begin.

We are making progress. The upper floor of House 2 is waiting for the precast ceiling, the ground floor precast ceiling of House 1 is waiting for the concrete. It is so amazing to be able to walk through the rooms. For our part, we decided quite spontaneously on precast stairs in exposed concrete quality, which we only want to seal afterwards. A small delay in the process due to the delivery time for the roller shutter boxes actually worked out well for us. But they are now installed and the concrete is coming on Wednesday. Our architect really put a lot of effort into the stairs, so they could be scheduled for the beginning/middle of the week after next. I am so excited!

Things really got going here again over the last few days. The plasterer/painter was here with 6-8 people and applied the fabric filler, base plaster, and two coats of paint (not quite finished yet). The carpenter also started on the stairs. At the same time, a buddy and I paved the yard. Two days of preparation, 7 hours of paving, 12 tons of gravel, 11 tons of KFT, and 12 tons or 1,800 stones later, all the joints are done...

Very chic. We also have the paving, but with stones of different sizes and not laid ourselves.
