I really like it. We had similar floor tiles in the first house on the ground floor. I'm considering whether we should switch to dark ones again.

I can highly recommend dark (Anthrazit) bathroom tiles on the floor and light wall tiles (we have light gray). It just looks stylish and timeless. However, with a long bathroom, I also prefer tiling horizontally a bit more and recommend only 1.2m (except in the shower) in height. In my opinion, this looks more modern if only a partial tiling is done. But it's all a matter of taste.

That looks a bit more modern to me. (Warum kann man denn nur noch 4 Minuten bearbeiten?)

We are now only tiling half of the bathrooms. But we have already chosen the tiles there; it will be the Oak Park Chalet from Villeroy & Boch. It matches very harmoniously with the wall tiles. I am currently looking again for tiles for the utility room, HAR, and our "storage rooms" under the garage. They will actually be converted to be more like living space, and since we do not need 40m² of storage space, we are still considering what to use them for. Most likely, my husband's "home gym" will move in there, so foam mats would partially lie on the tiles anyway. But altogether, there are about 60m² of tiles needed for all the storage rooms and utility rooms. In October, we chose a leftover batch of natural stone tiles from the tile dealer. However, at the beginning of January, he informed us that one of his employees mistakenly sold them to someone else. Now we have to look elsewhere because they are no longer available and are no longer being produced. We are now being shown a similar tile (which would actually be more expensive, but since it wasn’t our fault, we will get it at the same price). But maybe this is also an opportunity to reconsider and choose something darker. The natural stone tile was rather light.

We have 1.50m as tile height all around, in the showers 2m was targeted. On the upper floor, however, we go up to ceiling height in the shower niche because the remaining strip (you don’t want to deliberately cut tiles just because you have reached 2m) somehow looked meager. On the ground floor, the partition wall does not go all the way to the ceiling, there it ends with the partition wall.

We had a bit of bad luck with our first choice of tiles. The manufacturer discontinued it shortly after the sample selection. According to the saleswoman, it was one of the best-selling tiles... Now we have basically the same in slate look instead of gneiss, but only two colors instead of three.

Why does everyone always want to choose dark tiles, I am cured after 8 years. We have the Villeroy & Boch 60x30

If we ever build again or change the tiles, it will be lighter. You can see every crumb and water drop from what feels like 10 meters away.
