Then buy a cheap pebble exposed concrete slab at the hardware store, dig it in where it can temporarily go and put the mailbox on it. Later you can make a concrete foundation for it in the final spot. However, not on the property, but in front of it. You don't want the mail carrier always coming onto your property, do you?

so in our area it is common for the mailbox to be near the front door. Probably so you can get the mail without attracting too many curious looks. Also consider the weather. Standard mailbox with newspaper tube. You will probably find some beams, boards, etc. at your construction site with which you can nail a post. The mailbox can then be attached to it. You can weigh down the post’s base with concrete slabs to make it storm-proof. It is advantageous if the mailbox can be moved around, since you may have to work here or there from time to time.

Are you afraid to go outside? :D
If the property is fenced, then of course it is at the front by the fence; if the access is open, then gladly also near the front door.
Better the mail carrier (m/f/d) gets wet than the "mailbox emptier."
It is also possible to get the newspaper early in the morning, almost right out of bed.

At the beginning it was a retired "kitchen pedal bin," where the house number in A4 size was also attached.

Months later. Mailbox on the facade under the canopy, also house number integrated into a light.

But that only works if your property is not fenced. With us, almost all properties are fenced, then I would have to leave the gate open so that the mail carrier can enter the property.

There are also the little garden gates where you can reach the handle from the outside ;)

And fortunately also garden gates without handles, against badger renovators, winter garden representative squads, etc.
