Also this week, progress continued briskly. The exterior walls of the main building were completed
and the interior walls were fully constructed. Here is an interim status after the shower enclosure was built.
Originally, a room-height partition was planned, as according to our former architect this could not be implemented otherwise. On Thursday morning, I briefly visited the construction site. To my surprise, I was then asked how high we wanted the shower partition to be, since no height dimension was specified in the plans. So, on short notice, we still got our desired shower partition.
Thanks to the concrete stairs, we do not need a construction staircase. Here is the second-to-last concrete piece toward the upper floor. The last piece will be installed once the filigree ceiling for the upper floor is in place.
So far, we can truly say that we are more than satisfied with our structural builder. Always friendly, helpful, patiently answering our layman questions, and what I find very important, they think along and also bring improvement suggestions.
Actually, the excavator had been announced for the week before last to fill the working areas. It ultimately took until Thursday for the working area to be filled:
Next week, work can now begin on the foundation slab for the extension. However, next week will be a very short week, as construction will pause on Monday due to the holiday.
