Now I’m speaking up again.

Unfortunately, my spruces, like so many others, did not survive the drought.

Fortunately, I have a nice neighbor with a wheel loader, so we were able to transport all the logs without much effort...

And in the end, a really nice mailbox holder was made from it.

The paving should actually have been done a long time ago. Unfortunately, my first exterior plasterer completely botched the facade. Both visually and technically. All window sills were not properly sealed.

After a long back and forth and almost 6k poorer, a master painter took care of the facade again.

The good man also messed up the base sealing of the garage. During heavy rain, water pressed through the concrete block.

I then painstakingly knocked off and cleaned all the plaster residues outside and applied 2k sealing slurry.

Now everything looks great and my stones are waiting to be laid.

280 sqm 40/20 and 20/20 stones
48 sqm 60/40 terrace paving and
110m lawn edging

I have now lovingly named the house "Le Pappschachtél." The floor-to-ceiling windows are still missing (12 pieces) and the wooden walls do not yet have any openings, so from the back it really looks like a cardboard box

From the front, with the windows, it already looks more like a house.

For that, the guys really pushed hard today and have already erected the roof frame, which they originally wanted to put up only tomorrow. I could imagine that this might be connected to the fact that they can leave earlier on Friday. They deserve that. You can tell that these people have been working together for a long time and my motto today was: As long as the site manager is still laughing, everything is fine.

The cathedral ceiling in the living room already has a great effect even without windows, which of course doesn't come across in photos.

Otherwise, we will probably both fall asleep on the sofa soon, because the alarm clock rang at 4:30 this morning to make rolls and coffee. Still, I was so cold that even a grandma from the multi-family house across the street noticed. I was pacing around to warm up my legs and then she comes with a wicker basket with coffee and cookies and says, "It looks like the little snail is cold. Hopefully this will help. The basket and dishes can be put here and there." XD

We are doing our best with the neighborhood. It's really a small village, and I believe if you somehow mess up there, it can get really bad. Everyone was a bit surprised when we went around to briefly introduce ourselves and invite them to the topping-out ceremony. Judging by the reactions, I would think the two builders before us didn't do that. My boyfriend has also already been handed a petrol chainsaw by another neighbor without being asked because we couldn't get any further with ours. I think we are on a pretty good path there. And of course, always greet everyone nicely and friendly.

Tina, this is really a nice beginning, with the house and the neighborhood. When I saw the apartment building in the background, I thought it must be in the East... which is true. And right next door the paddock, how lovely (I think). Good luck!

The staircase was installed at our place. Now, the staircase just needs to be securely drilled in and the wall covered. The stair railing is there, but we will leave it for now until we have decided on the exact floor plan for the upper floor.
