even if you only buy material, it's already tight... I have paid more just for the material for the floor coverings than that, and we don't have mega high-end expensive tiles or designer flooring...

But with Karsten, it's the same as with me. In the construction service description, things like hallways, utility rooms, bathrooms, kitchens are already covered with tiles, maybe possibly an extra charge for more expensive tiles. If you deduct all that, then with 110 sqm not much is left. Maybe half, so if you then take a reasonably decent floor from the mid-range? You definitely get far with that.

The single-lever mixer can't do anything about the fluctuations caused by other users of the water pipes, which is why I appreciate the single-piece counter-control instead of turning two taps to get the mixture right again. A thermostat is of course even more comfortable. And pulling the lever back up linearly after soaping up is easier for me than remembering the crank turns of two taps.

We are also building in a price range that many consider impossible. However, the amounts are now all fixed - not much can happen to us anymore (the screed is currently being installed). And our construction supervisor from the [Verband Privater Bauherren] is very satisfied with the work done so far - we have obviously and hopefully not cut corners in the wrong place. Of course, without a lot of frills, but with the things that were personally important to us and worth the price.

192k house with 146 sqm without basement, 1.5 stories, gable roof, light gray plaster, gas + solar collectors + water storage, without underfloor heating, windows/doors inside + outside anthracite, floor-level showers + masonry walls, staircase special color, double drywall on upper floor, Q3 surfaces, incl. SAT, no KFW, construction site OWL

65k value land 800 sqm (however, from family ownership)

7k incidental costs (building application, notary, land registry, construction electricity, - water, surveying, construction fence, drainage planning)

6k house connection costs

14k development costs/additional foundation

9k outdoor facilities (gravel, 70 sqm paving, splash protection, 25 sqm terrace, front garden)

7k materials for floors/walls in EL

27k kitchen, furniture, lamps, [Verband Privater Bauherren] supervision
