That's pretty cool, never thought about the fact that something like that must exist.

Most of the ground floor is now built with us, so the ceiling is supposed to be done starting tomorrow. Unfortunately, I don't have any up-to-date pictures. The second picture shows the passage from the dining room to the kitchen, and in front of the window in the kitchen will be our cozy seating area.

Things are steadily progressing here as well:

The bathroom upstairs is almost fully tiled:

(Entry was still prohibited, so just this blurry picture)

The first doors have also been installed:

So far only in the basement where we have somewhat cheaper doors, but today the work continues upstairs (the only door on the ground floor leads to the guest WC and the floor tiles are still missing there - so that will take some more time)

And in the third room, the window seat is slowly taking shape and we’re really excited about it:

What will go on top of the drawers? We have planned a similar setup but have not yet been able to find a "wooden board" with the necessary depth and approximately 4.5m length. Will this be a custom-made piece such as a knife-veneered chipboard, or have you found a suitable industrial product?

And will there be some kind of "backrest" (i.e., one side of the window reveal extended further into the room)?

The installation is done by the carpenter, the seat surface is a fitted oak board over the entire length (that is, over all the drawers below); shelves will be placed to the right and left of the window and the jamb will be enlarged at the window for leaning against. Above the window, there will be spotlights.

Many thanks for the information!

How long is it in your case? And will it actually be a "board," meaning a single piece of wood, or rather glued laminated timber (if yes, finger-jointed or continuous lamellas)? Sorry for the holes in your stomach
