We cook a lot. Therefore, the kitchen must not only look good but also be practical. Handleless was crossed out right at the first showcase. It’s just annoying.
Push-to-open (electric) is expensive and slow. Without electricity not so expensive but still slow.
With handle rails, I break my fingers.
So, get rid of it
I would call it experience. We just find it impractical. It looks nice but living with it for 20 years? Not if I have a choice.
Cool... after 25 years of experience with my own kitchen (Mom had knobs), most handles are just annoying for me: not only visually because there are too many, but also simply annoying when leaning against or you get caught on open handles.
So everyone has their own experiences. I cook handleless, and very tasty and practical
@zaba: we currently have exactly the same railing in our rental apartment (just different wood) - it’s really very durable, so perfect for the rental. For my own house I would probably have looked for something else - but if you like it. Quality-wise it is top. The danger, however, is that you constantly hang something on it because it’s so practical and a hanger fits exactly over the bars *g*
Yes, like with kitchen door handles

Unfortunately, the staircase exudes an '80s terraced house charm and somehow doesn't quite fit with the rest of the house.
But tastes are known to differ.
The staircase is a nice timeless one, which was already installed in the '70s but precisely because of that has its charm and value. It fits well into both industrial and Scandinavian design. Surfaces should always be evaluated together with the floors and furnishings.
What is clearly visible about the staircase is that it stands in a small space, so it’s quite steep... but that was already known through the design.
What are these gross '80s terraced house staircase comments supposed to be? Are they necessary? Who are they supposed to help?
I have the feeling that for some, building a house is going to their heads – suddenly they belong to the elite who can judge taste just because they had to choose some things "tastefully" themselves. And with taste, of course, one’s own is always the only true one*
The carpenter has now also completed our last project, the wardrobe.
Great! How expensive is something like that? Did you include these costs in the calculation right away???
Our living space is slowly taking shape. The kitchen is coming at the end of the month. I think we will move in within three weeks. Unfortunately, parts of the lighting have a long delivery time and will only arrive at the beginning of September. So be it.
Is a railing going on top?
*I have stayed away from this thread longer because I’m also bothered by this kind of disparagement.
And: Respect also belongs to the neighbors including their cars
