Nope, I wouldn't even spend €100 on a chair. Probably also the reason why I was still able to build my own house with only 2k net, can still save well every month, and am missing nothing. €400 chairs are also the reason why many think that a normal house construction can only work with at least 4.5k net.

Good for everyone who can afford something like that. I just find the cost/benefit factor a bit lacking. Probably not everyone would want to move in with me either.

I searched a long time for chairs that we like AND that are comfortable to sit in AND have armrests. If I had found something cheaper, I would have gone for it. But we really looked at everything available over three years, tried them out, etc. In the end, these outdoor chairs were left. I would have liked a classic cantilever chair too, but my husband didn’t (although the classic cantilever chair isn’t cheaper either).

I had my last chairs for over 25 years (and I still have them now as 4 extension chairs for the end sides), if I have these for as long, then that works for me (and I think they are practically indestructible). In between, we had two somewhat cheaper chairs even with real leather covers, but they were completely worn out within a month – it then felt like sitting on a toilet seat. We just didn’t want to experience that again.

I personally also get short of breath when someone buys a camera for 2,000 EUR or a new motorcycle for 20,000 EUR. Many hobbies cost a lot of money and some people just like special furniture or pictures or lights or or or...

For me, the chairs or their price wouldn’t be anything either. We go for tavern chairs, they have to be sturdy ^^ But if someone likes to spend those sums on it, they should do so – if someone enjoys these things, that’s wonderful. Everyone has different priorities. In house construction as well as in furnishing, in kitchen equipment, in clothing... Otherwise, it would be quite boring and monotonous if all people were the same.

Everyone as they like, why not. I also think the table with the chairs is nice. I just wouldn't want to spend that much on it myself and I would never have the patience to deal with details like chairs for so long (I'm the type - one trip through Ikea = everything included). But as I said, if it's so perfect for her, why not.

Since I only like furniture for a limited time, I don't spend that much money on it. I'd rather get something new more often. My dad had a solid wood cabinet made by the carpenter 30 years ago for 8000 DM, it now stands in the way too small apartment and is out of place. But he says it was so expensive, he can't part with it. Oh yes, meanwhile this cabinet is just ugly, he says that himself too

But the table looks smooth, I find the chairs okay. Why they now cost 400 euros? No idea, they could also be Ikea for 50 euros each.
