I really like the bay window!

This is actually glued laminated timber with continuous lamellas. Apparently, I wasn’t completely misinformed after all, and you can only get it in lengths up to about 3m – too bad, I had hoped your carpenter might have a hot tip for a source.
But he actually solved the (necessary) joint very elegantly. Looks great! I think we will probably handle it the same way.

@Dr. Hix: There even seem to be longer versions, but I just googled for fun. In the process, I came across zeg-holz, on their website you can find oak laminated timber panels with continuous lamellae in the dimensions

would you tell me who made the great window? Overall, the bay window looks great.

Does anyone actually sit there? Even with cushions, the posture there would be too uncomfortable for me to really read anything for a longer time.
