At the acquaintance's place, the floor has now been laid. The expansion joints were not retained but scraped out and filled with synthetic resin. When changing the covering to tiles, the area was extensively spackled to avoid any edges. The covering changes under the door leaf. A very fine silicone joint will be applied here.

Joe, if you apply the filler extending out widely, you will end up with a floor that is not flat over a large area. I would find that much worse than this small edge, which only someone who is completely hammered would trip over, then that is self-inflicted misery. Yes, you could raise the entire screed in the vinyl rooms. But we haven't thought about that. So what? That's how it is now. Otherwise, I think my brother and I managed the planks quite well. All straight, level, and firm. Karsten

That could cause a bit of gurgling during heavy rain at the last bend before the downpipe due to irregular flow speed, but otherwise, I would say it fits. The most important thing for the planks is always about a hand's breadth of land under the house.

I had read that the resin treatment can only be done with trowel cuts and proper expansion joints must be carried over into the covering.

I'm also not so sure if Joe presented that correctly. Filling the joints with EP makes no sense, because then nothing expands or contracts anymore; rather, the screed breaks before the cured EP does. But perhaps they filled in a tough-elastic monourethane resin. That would make sense. We simply left the blue foam strip in, cut it short, and sealed it over with silicone. With [Fensterbausille], because it is enormously adhesive and very flexible. Karsten

Unfortunately, I am only the second instance. I am only told about it and can pass it on as such. I will also report on what it is like to walk on the slight incline. Whether you notice it very much. I also only know it as [Dehnungsfugen] being taken over.
