Friends have a 2-part glass panel. In summer it is stored away, in winter it lies in front of the fireplace on the parquet floor. I think it's a good solution if you don't have tiles! LG

I find it suboptimal because the pane is a tripping hazard and a dirt edge. Tiles combined with parquet, in my opinion, look awful and distract the eye from the fireplace.
