My wooden deck is slowly taking shape! Over the past few weeks, in the evenings, I have been occasionally laying some old exposed concrete slabs and "stone remnants" as a mixed substructure. Today, I finally received the UK battens made of Bankirai and immediately laid them out as a test and aligned them.

Tomorrow, I hope to pick up the wood for the deck as well; it will probably be smooth Cumaru planks unless I find something nicer on site. Of course, plenty of the "plastic caps" will also go underneath so that it holds ;)

I don’t really know if it’s done the right way, but you still get a "like" from me for the beautiful green lawn. :)

We are moving today, even though I would rather spend more time here than carrying boxes. Soon some pictures of the house interior will follow.

Correct, cut about 2 cm deep then make cross cuts at intervals of about 5-10 cm, put "staples" in and resin them in. We also have to do that between the hallway and utility room.

So, this Saturday I really pushed despite temperatures over 30° ;) After breakfast, I borrowed a car with a trailer from my nephew, picked up wood (self service = choose and load yourself ), unloaded. Then returned the car with the trailer... Unfortunately, it was already noon by then.
Well, I admit I only started around 9:30 ;)

Then aligned the substructure and aligned all (about 70) of the "little cones," partly anchored in the ground and attached to the substructure with V2A screws. The mEA super pretty decking boards are currently just loosely laid on top; starting Monday, I will shorten the substructure and probably begin screwing down the decking boards. And a provisional privacy screen definitely has to go up before the hedge comes in September / October and grows in...

, I like that very much. The wood looks great. What did you decide on there?

I’ll spare you more pictures of insulating the roof ;)

But finally our scaffolding is gone, after only 5 months :D The house first looked really grotesque, at the same time much smaller, but also much taller.
Never mind, we got used to it quickly and are totally happy!

Here are a few impressions of the house without scaffolding:
The house has 10 different colors through my phone camera, the one that matches the real color best is the first picture here in the

The view is also much better from my room

And in the evening an especially great surprise – our bat boxes were occupied!

Our windowsills finally got the cover caps :)

Yesterday we didn’t plan to go to the house, until someone called at 2:30 pm and asked if we could be there in an hour – where are we when?? The freight company for our floorboards had forgotten to tell us the day they would be delivered... We managed to negotiate two hours and received our ash solid wood floorboards.
So beautiful!
I mean, look for yourself. I’m totally smitten.

Otherwise, since Thursday the screed heating program has finally been running. Not much moisture is expected and it’s already been there for quite some time. It will be done on August 22. From then on, we’ll spend 2 weeks at the house, on vacation. We’ll really power through then.

The utility room will be paneled at one wall to the end so that the internet can be connected there. After that, we will raise the wooden walls in the kitchen so that the electrician can lay the first sockets there and we can get rid of the construction power. Then the guest toilet, so we have our own toilet inside the house. The bathroom upstairs has to be finished by October so that the tiler can start. After that, we’ll get started on Sepp’s room, where we will move in first until we finish everything else. Apartments will also be terminated soon.

All very exciting!

Hello As always, beautiful pictures. A very pretty little house, but actually, even with the previous pictures, I imagined a bigger house ;). The main thing is that it suits you. But with so much forest around, I guess you’ll live half outside?

And with so much DIY work, it’s probably normal to move onto a construction site (my nephew and his girlfriend did that too, and now they are gradually taking out and putting in the remaining parts.)

My terrace floorboards are made of "Cumaru." I chose them a few weeks ago at a local timber merchant. The expert says one oiling is enough, then the tigered grain really stands out even more.
