House Pictures Chat Corner - Show off your house pictures!

Congratulations on the topping-out ceremony. What exactly have you organized there? Will something come up for us in week 20?

On Wednesday we will first celebrate the backfilling. Afterwards, there will be last pictures in the unfilled state.

Somewhere there is a topping-out thread - 200 sausages, 200 rolls, drinks in abundance (unused ones go back), a few standing tables, 1 beer bench set, 2 heat lamps. The topping-out tree came from the neighbors, this is customary here. Carpenters were not there, so no "official topping-out speech," but masons were present. I gave them chocolate Easter bunnies with miniature bricks around their necks and that was that. Neighbors etc. around 70, currently I don’t know how many leftovers there are.

Wow. Did you already know the neighbors before? We once introduced ourselves there and occasionally talk when we are at the construction site. But it’s not a close relationship yet. Did you invite them all officially or how does something like that work?

There were about 35 people in total. 10 liters of soup (homemade), 20 sausages, 3 beer tent sets, and drinks on commission. We provided the topping crown and schnapps and additionally received one from the neighbors and our construction agent. The carpenters then gave the topping speech.

Our duplex neighbors are from the town, so they know a lot of people. There is a WhatsApp group from the new development area where we are (there are a total of 17 parties), everyone is in it, and we announced the date there. Some others from the rest of the town also came by, not all at the same time but stopped by briefly and then disappeared again. We only knew those we had randomly met so far and from writing.

Here are the promised photos. On Tuesday, the inspector will come to check the proper construction of the basement before backfilling, and on Wednesday, it is planned to be backfilled.

Planned completion of the entire house according to the current status is week 35.

Interesting what the round things in the second to last picture are supposed to be. They were not there before and, to my knowledge, it has not been discussed what they are.
