Better than almost white tiles. I've gotten over that too. Next time there will be a very spotty brown (if my wife agrees).

I think the "mix" makes the difference.
On pure "dark" tiles you see everything (really?) or at least more than on lighter or, like ours, "grey-streaked" tiles. We are very satisfied that you don’t see every dust particle or stain right away.
Before, we lived in a rental with glossy, cream-colored tiles. THAT was dreadful.

You are absolutely right - it’s the same in our hallway... totally annoying.

In the living/dining/kitchen area, we had continuous wood-look tiles laid. It’s simply a dream how easy to maintain, durable, and visually beautiful they are - I would do it again immediately.

Except for the bathroom, we also have tiles with a wood look everywhere and are very satisfied. They are partly very frowned upon here, but I really like them. Upstairs, solid ash wood planks will be installed, but we still have to lay them.

Really? I honestly don’t understand why they are frowned upon xD There is nothing better on the market for me right now... Everyone who has entered the house so far has been completely thrilled. Ultimately, it’s also just the maintenance... You don’t see any dust, you can easily and well mop/vacuum, it doesn’t fade in the sun, it’s durable (especially with kids) and visually simply amazing :)

I don't think they're really frowned upon, are they? To me, they just look too cold visually. Purely in terms of maintenance and durability, tiles were also my first choice, but I'm generally not a fan of ceramic coverings in living spaces. It's more of a matter of taste. If you like the look, I think tiles are the first choice.
