No, not hard: the goods and prices shown there are from the West catalog, so for the senders, and accordingly in Westmark. As far as I remember, they also corresponded to the then West German retail prices. In the price range of a VW bus or a Neckermann house, an East German citizen probably usually raised this from money assets or payment claims that flowed in from Western heirs – one would hardly have been able to reach such an amount from converted wages for foreign assignments in other CMEA states alone.

Partially, yes. Since it was not a turnkey house but only a set of building plans, of course the equipment upgrades or shifts of non-load-bearing walls were entirely at one’s own discretion, without the price changing in relation to the plan supplier. But in terms of magnitude, target group, and market penetration, the comparison is, in my opinion, "correct." However, the EW65 was probably built standardly with a full basement foundation, whereas the Flair 113 is probably at least just as popular among slab-on-grade builders proportionally.

Definitely a low-maintenance garden! :)

Are there infrared heaters or similar on the covered terrace?

Is someone already living there? :)

Ok ... the later posts answer the question!

In any case, the house stands out from the "common mass" (city villas etc.) :)

How is the infrastructure of the area?

Great house, I think so too. Looks like it would be just around the corner from us - at least as far as the landscape is concerned.

Floor plans would interest me as well.
Would you maybe also tell me who you built with, what type of construction, etc.?

I probably would have separated the terrace a bit from the entrance, but you can always do that later with a big pot with plants, for example.

The kitchen looks like it’s not on the ground floor - if it is: how do you clean the window from outside? (the housekeeper in me immediately noticed that at the sight...)

In any case, you definitely have my envy for the plot. We would have liked to have something freestanding like that too, but we were just glad to have gotten any land to build on at all, you have to swallow some toads. But like this: right in the middle of greenery! A dream!!!
