What is the function of the room on the upper floor that spans the entire width of the house?
I would have skipped the side window overlooking the neighbor's house wall. It would always be "darkened" for me.
I think she means
Am I meant? If yes, I'll try to answer that ;).
The room on the upper floor spanning the entire width of the house is my room.
There are two of us and we both have our own rooms. My health is sometimes better and sometimes worse. Sometimes I am very weak and spend days/weeks only in my room. That's why I have such a big one. We didn't want four small rooms upstairs but had reserved the option to share the room if we needed to. Unfortunately, the heating circuit distributor is now where the second door could have gone.
And honestly, I don’t understand the question about the side window. I’m not afraid of the neighbors and don’t assume we're so interesting that they stare into our window all day. But I also don’t know which window you mean, as we have windows in every direction and many also facing the neighbors. That’s just how it is in a relatively densely populated country.
We both need a lot of air and light.
We will rather seldom darken, we don’t have blinds, only preparations for venetian blinds on the south side. We are waiting out a summer to see if we need them. The only windows that will definitely get a heat protection awning are the skylights on the south.
