I am also thinking about building a wooden deck all around the house (but then up to entrance height as well). Thanks for the inspiration on how it could look.
Then here is another inspiration. Here there is larch wood on the south side. It goes around the house on the west side (background of the picture) and ends before the terrace in front of the kitchen door, and on the east side (approximately this location) also around the house and connects to the driveway / carport, the path to the front door on the north side, and the path to the garden area downhill. The width varies between a bit over 1m, almost 6m where the seating area is, and 3m in the foreground in front of the windows of the "children". The slope requires fall protection. but from my point of view there is nothing against WPC... I just thought about it: the grill deck is now over 10 years old and after a quick brush and clear water (no chemicals or such) it always looks like new again...
WPC is an exceptionally durable material and has clear advantages when it comes to cleaning. Artificial grass also remains colorfast more easily and does not need to be cut, by the way, and Etap Hotel once showed that plastic walls in bathrooms have cleaning advantages. I just don’t like these plastics, even though they sometimes have superior properties. Quite irrationally, I feel more comfortable with more natural materials.
