I'm currently dealing with the electrical installation. There is a DIN standard that specifies the permissible chase depths and widths without structural proof. That gets difficult with KNX at 17.5 and impossible at 11.5 if I understand correctly. Or does the structural engineer prepare proofs for all chases in such buildings?
Yes, there really are standards for the depth of chases (don't the other types of bricks have them?).
We don't have controlled residential ventilation, chases were still made in our case, there were no problems even with 11.5 walls. It's just harder to chase (because of the density of the bricks).
