He is talking about winter and the ground in front of the heat pump (i.e. a heat exchanger) with wind from its fan and no other wind contributing thermal lift from the ground heated by winter sun; in total therefore a risk of ice.

Oh, you mean there on the sidewalk in front of the heat pump? Yes, we will see.. if necessary, we will have to spread more there.
