So you only see everything with a price tag? What kind of countertop would have been acceptable for you with a Berbel Skyline? The requirement for the extractor hood is simply different than for the countertop. Namely, that it is height-adjustable and self-cleaning...

I think, for example, Bora with granite/SileStone/ceramic or similar would have been more comfortable overall. These materials have many advantages that probably weigh more in everyday life than the height adjustability of the Skyline. Just the daily cleaning around the annoying edge of the cooktop is already more time-consuming than cleaning the hood every few months.

We definitely did not want a Bora. Friends who have one and cook a lot advised us against it because it gets dirty very quickly from splashes while cooking and the extraction performance is not very good with taller pots. A granite or Silestone countertop does have advantages but feels very cold. Additionally, it reflects a lot. At first, we also wanted a stone countertop, but we consciously decided against it. Maybe it will come someday... An inexpensive countertop and a high-quality extractor hood are not a contradiction for me.

[QUOTE="ivenh0, post: 389288, It’s not like anyone installs a Ferrari engine in a Golf. [/QUOTE] Uh - really? Installing Ferrari-equivalent engine power is a common tuning option. The deliberate setting of priorities and accents is especially a matter of style in furnishing, not price.
