Are you talking about the pillars? Yes, that could have been done much slimmer, but that's how we wanted it, although they're not finished yet. There will still be an outdoor kitchen under the canopy and the wall won't stay as it is visually, it will be altered. In the corner there will then be a lounge/dining area. In total, about 4x6m are covered. Next to it is a larger uncovered area. Maybe I'll take a picture "from outside" later.

Honestly, not really... that's more my husband's thing. He mainly wants to build it out of Ytong blocks and plaster it, but I can't say much more about the construction. As long as it doesn't get too expensive, I'll let him handle it. So far, the roofing and wall have cost around 3000-3500€.

Exactly, above it is acrylic glass, which now can hardly be seen except from above because it is covered from below by the reed mats and there is a row of bricks all around that blocks the view of it and the drainage.

I have already seen such cool outdoor kitchens. Awesome! We are actually permanent grillers, even in winter. I made our last Christmas dinner on the grill. An outdoor kitchen on the terrace has always been our dream. But just a grill, which we imagine there, costs nearly €2000. So unfortunately, it will still have to wait in the new house.

We use the grill a lot and enjoy it. The professionally offered outdoor kitchens are usually in the higher price range according to my research – so building one yourself should be worthwhile (google outdoor kitchen Ikea Hack and check out the Morawetz link). I have a fairly simple Broilking Baron with 4 burners, which will be moved along. Then I still have a large Ikea kitchen island left over that I can’t sell – that’s the initial basis for now. I will somehow turn that into a kind of outdoor kitchen, even if time is tight this year. First, the house has to be finished.
